Welcome To The North Star!!

Welcome to the first blog for The North Star: Choosing Affordable Stocks! It is our goal and desire to inform and educate our readers on the importance of owning stock and how relative inexpensive it can be to purchase good quality stocks from companies all over the world.  The name Northern Star was chosen to represent stocks that are affordable, reliable, and still offer investors a good return on their money. Stocks that for one reason or another, out shine all other in their field. A Northern Star that shine so bright that it lead the way for others to follow.  We hope to inform, educate, give and receive information to and from others, but we are not professionals  nor do we profess to be. We own no business degrees, no company owners, no stock brokers or bankers. Just individuals that love to talk, invest, encourage and help others become part owners of many of America top business companies.

We are entering into the 21st century and is the best time to invest and learn how to invest in the stock market. It is time for changing course, out with the old and in with the new, and believing in what could be instead of what has been. Within my own lifetime, I have witness the marvel of technology from transistors radios to satellite  radios, from televisions with just three stations that went off air at 12:00 am to satellite tv with hundreds of channels broadcasting 24 hours a day, and now we are entering into an area that will depend more on fuel cells and electric batteries instead of oil, gasoline or diesel  fuel. Change is coming.

Cause and Effect: For every action, there is a reaction and for every cause, there is an effect. What I am saying is change is coming sooner or later and the question is how will it affect you, your family and your future. If we understand the cause or the reason for change, we might be able to understand, comprehend or even forsee how it might affect us and how we might befefit in some ways from it. Let's take for instance our means of transportation. I suppose the earliest means of transportation was probably walking, and then came the horse and buggy, and then probably came steam energy. Steam energy provided the fasted means of transportation at that time which lasted about a hundred years or so, give or take a few years. Then came the combustible engine which urshered in the area of oil and oil related products along with gasoline and desiel fuel. The combustible engine has survived many variation and modification and is still our main means of transportation. With every change in our transportation mode, we have gotten from point A to point B faster, more effecient and a little more cleaner enviromential wise than the previous mode of transportation. Well, gusess what? The times they are a changing again!! We are quickly moving into a new area of providing transportation. We are begining to see new types of vehicels that do not require oil or oil related products for fuel, but depend on solar, electrical and fuel cell that create hydrogen to produce fuel. Or how about moving about by supersonic trains!! You don't have to buy stocks in the major players to be a part of this future, but buying portion of stocks at a time or buying stock in the suppliers and minor suppliers of the major players would allow the average person to have a very important part in shaping the future of our nation. We at The North Star hope to have a part in this as well by helping to shine the light on different companies both large and small that we feel the average person can afford to invest in and feel proud by doing so.
